Everymum Babymoon at Randles Hotel Killarney

You might have seen on our instagram that we went on a Babymoon last week. everymum sent us down to Killarney in County Kerry to stay for 2 nights in Randles Hotel. It was amazing, honestly a babymoon should be mandatory for all parents to be. Randles have a mother-to-be package on their website that offers parents the chance to unwind and be pampered before life gets a lot busier!

The Journey

This was the first time we had ever properly left Oscar since he was born. We dropped him off at nursery and I had to run out real quick before I cried! My brother and Mam collected him that evening and he didn’t look for us once, the cheek of him. We set off on the almost 4 hour journey feeling fresh!

The most typical thing ever then happened, I said “We should stop and get petrol before we head off” and Adam said “ah we’ll be grand”. It wasn’t grand, we ran out of petrol 1.1km from a petrol station. So that broke the journey up nicely! Even that didn’t dampen the mood though, Oscar had been sleeping in between us for the last month and we were living for a solid nights sleep! The views on the way were incredible, who knew the motorway could look so stunning!

The Room

We arrived at the hotel just after dark and checked in. The room blew us away. A massive suite with the biggest bed I have ever seen, a gorgeous fireplace, flat screen tv, two reading chairs and a beautiful dining set all at a massive bay window looking out at the Kerry mountains.

On the table was the gift bag that is included in the mum-to-be package, such a personal touch. A baby’s first Christmas vest, some lavender and eucalyptus bath products and fresh linen scented candles and incense. It was so lovely to be greeted like that, a little reminder of why we were there.

We spent the evening watching TV without having to check the baby monitor or run upstairs to retrieve a thrown soother. I was able to have a bath without nearly slipping on a rubber duck. Adam was able to shower without a toddler pulling back the curtain shouting “Peekaboo!”. Bliss.

The Spa Treatments

Included in the package is a ritual for mother to be, that’s a lighten up foot and hand treatment followed by a relaxing neck, back and shoulder massage. The 80 minute pamper session ends with a cleanse your mind, face, neck and head ritual. I had this done, it was incredible. Your partner gets €20 spa credit too so Adam treated himself to a remedial back massage. We had to peel ourselves off the bed for dinner Friday night after being so relaxed! The Zen Day Spa is so chilled, the staff were so attentive and couldn’t do enough for either of us! They have so many treatments available!

We really had a brilliant time and it was exactly what we needed before our new little man arrives next month! It gave us the time and space we both needed to feel like ourselves again, as more than Mammy and Daddy. It was nice to just be Adam and Eileen again.

We missed our crazy toddler and going home to him again was lovely, especially coming home fresh and ready to give him 100% after our break. I would definitely recommend Randles for a break away to any parent to be!
