We were lucky enough to be sent the Evermeadow playhouse from Big Game Hunters a couple of months ago. Due to typical Irish weather, sick kids, and a hospital stay with the newborn we’ve only really gotten around to playing with it now! We love it. Honestly, from the speedy delivery to the endless options to customise it.
The Evermeadow Playhouse
The playhouse arrived within 3 days, thats international post! It comes flat packed with everything you need bar a screwdriver. Assembly took less than an hour, it would be faster with 2 people but Adam did it alone while I tried to distract Oscar, and then we got to work painting it. We chose yellow so that even in the dull Irish weather there’s something bright outside.
It comes untreated so you have complete creative control over the colour of the house. The paint went on really well and it took less than a litre to cover the entire house. Oscar wanted to go out before the first coat of paint had even dried, he loved looking out through the window and opening and closing the door. He even got the dog involved! In typical Irish fashion the playhouse was put to the test within a week, sun, rain and even snow. It held up against it all.
We can’t wait to paint the inside and maybe put a mud kitchen in there. The quality of the house leaves me confident that it will still be standing in years to come when both boys can play in it. I can’t wait for summer now that Oscar has his own little den to retreat to when if it gets hot.
Its nice and spacious inside and easily cleaned. We’re going to get some felt for the roof to keep it a bit more insulated. Overall its a really impressive playhouse from Big Game Hunters. The price is really reasonable £102 for the house and you can get flooring for £30 on their website.
