Does your child get tired in Winter?

Your child is usually full of life and energy, running around, making mess, filling your house with all kinds of noise and bounce, and you wouldn’t have it any other way! But because the seasons are changing, and the days are getting a lot shorter than usual, there’s a good chance the entirety of your household is feeling a little bit drained right now. And your kids are no exception to this idea.

So now’s the time to make sure your child is getting enough sleep during the colder months, and have the best conditions in their bedroom to sleep within. Here’s a couple of ideas to look into.

Go Out with The Kids a Little More

Winter is a time of year when the lack of sun really gets to us, and our bodies stop producing as many happy, energetic brain chemicals as usual. It’s the way we’ve evolved, to make sure we’re never straying out after dark, and have plenty of energy from sleeping to survive such harsh environments!

So you’re going to need to head outside with your little ones a little bit more, to makes sure they’re soaking up as much sun as possible, to keep them quipping for longer during the day. This is especially important if they’re of school age, and have 6 or 7 hours of classroom time to get through, as well as homework and a bunch of holiday work to keep up with as well! So to help out, why not go on some picnics on the weekends, or see if there’s an ice skating rink you can hit up in the afternoons of the holiday, or wrap up warmer for spending some time in the garden? These are all viable options both you and the kids will enjoy doing!

Buy Your Kids a New Mattress

You should change your mattress every 8 years or so, but for the winter months, you might want something that has a little more support, and a little more memory foam, to make sure you’re getting as much sleep as possible. Seeing as the dark is coming in earlier these days, and you don’t want to have to go to bed at 4 in the afternoon (r.e. you’ve got dinner to cook and the kids have just come home from school), you’re going to need a bit more quality sleep than usual!

The same kind of effects will take place on your kids, even with all the excess energy they have over you. So look into these childrens mattress, to make sure your kids won’t suffer at all during the nights for this coming season. Autumn is already racking the fatigue up against them, and you don’t want to have to watch them droop anymore than they already are!

Being tired during the winter can be considered a natural part of life, but it shouldn’t have to disrupt the life you lead. Make sure you’re preparing for some sleep troubles this coming cold season.
